Here is a prayer of mine.

Dear God thank you for today, friends, family, food, water, clothing, and shelter, Amen.

You know what?  I was asleep last night and I woke up in the middle of the night and threw up because my tummy hurt.  I did not go to sleep for an half an hour instead I puked.  But I am fine my tummy stopped hurting.

When will you guys come over?

I missed you.

We played in the rain.  It was cold.  Brrr.  We played a little bit.  First we put a stick in the ground and most of it was sticking up.  And I had a stick and I wacked the stick out of the ground.  I'm glad we got the wood burner going.  It keeps me warm. 

  

I love you Auntie Barb. love Charlie, I am having fun with Auntie Barb Bethany Hannah Mommy and Daddy.

I watched movies this week.  I watched the Wizard of Oz.  It was about a girl walking on the yellow brick road.

God  blessed me with two sisters.

I've been raking and shoveling up leaves and putting it in the fire ring.  And last night, Bethany and Hannah and I had taken a bath. 

In the last few weeks, Miss Reba's camper was stuck in mud.  And, two days after Miss Reba's camper was stuck, she got it unstuck then to her home. 

Yesterday, we got water and while we were going in town, we lost the lid to the cube. 

I learned in church this morning not to lie, not to steal, not to cheat and I've learned to tell if someone hurts you right away and that's it.

God has blessed me nice with giving me food and water and goats so that maybe we can have milk when they are milking.

I am thankful for all the things He has given me.

Rain Break

We have been working.  The reason why we are cutting down trees is so we can have firewood and so we can have our cabins and wood for our house.  Right now, it's raining so we aren't working and flies are attacking us which I killed one of them.  After the rain is over, we are headed back to work. 

God has blessed me so well and He gave me life to live. 

I miss Auntie Barb and Miss Lisa.  I miss taking piano lessons and MK.  I like the work we've been doing.  I am getting big muscles that reach all the way to my hand.  Today, we are going to the chainsaw place with a big cube reaching to the sky.  After we are done at the chainsaw place, we are going to fill the cube with water. 

God has blessed me so much.  He blessed me with two parents who love me. 

Today, I've been good.  I shot Daddy's bb gun and then I was finding a good place where I could hit the target but I got into between the target and Ben which was a good place but it was between Ben and the target.  Ben lost the gun and I lost the gun and then when shot after I did, his bb after it hit the target just hit me.  And then after I said that the bb hit me, Ben just started screaming and crying and whining about stuff. 

I shot my gun yesterday.  I liked it.  It was loud.  It scared me.  It was fun.  Daddy had to adjust the scope for me because I don't know how.  But I will learn.  When I shot, I aimed at a tree.  I did not miss.  I knew what I wanted to shoot at and I hit it.

I love my gun.  And the scope is better.  I am happy that Daddy had gotten that for me for my birthday.

Birthday Present

Big Cat 1200 Air Gun.

I got a gun for my birthday.  I like having my own gun.  Hopefully I can shoot it soon.  Maybe tomorrow.  Daddy has to make sure it works safely first.  I probably won't be able to shoot it until tomorrow.  I hate waiting.

Today is my birthday

I love it out here in the beautiful sun and it is great.  I like being 8.  I was waiting and waiting and waiting.  I never have to sit in a car seat again.YAHOO!  I am now three years older than Bethany and five years older than Hannah and I am getting bigger muscles.

There is nothing else I want to say now.

Today we are getting water so we can wash dishes and wash clothes that got dirty.
We have been playing in the woods and the army that we B and I are going to have the army that is coming from the woods and the person that is coming from the woods is named Solomon and when we pick out scabs, they make more so we can kill as many as we want.
Sometimes, they give up and go back to Solomon to take a break and sometimes they come from the hill. There is going to be another war and there will be a new man and his name is going to be Sonobo.
Yesterday while B was doing dishes, the girls and I were trying to find Solomon to trap him in a cage with Handsome the rooster, but we did not find him so we tried to find the other person.
We left the campsite so that we can go swimming. YAY. Mommy threw me in the water then I just swam back up. It was really cool. Then we walked in the water and went a little bit deep and then when it was about to be evening we were going to get rabbit feed for Uncle K and Miss T’s rabbits but they were closed already. We went home to have dinner then we went to take showers.
God has blessed me by giving me a friend.

Digging

We have been digging. We have been digging a lot of mud. We are digging the mud and moving it down the hill so we can have a clean area for tables. We are also digging for drainage. I like digging. It helps me grow big hairy muscles.
We watched a movie the other night called Tremors 4. (Mommy note: Not a movie I would typically choose for my children. But I was with my husband on the way to the VA at the time.) It was a great movie but not with the dinosaurs slurping the people but when the people were trying to kill the dinosaurs, I loved it. I think they were dinosaurs or dragons. They came out of walls and the ground. They are dragons without wings. (Mommy note: Not a clue what he is talking about.)
After the movie, we made a couch into a bed and went to sleep.
There has been a lot of rain and thunderstorms and lightening. The rain helps me work, work, work, work, work, work, work, work, and work. Even in the rain, I have to wash dishes. The rain helps the creek run. We made a dam in the creek to help make the water slow down a little which I like to do.
We get water from a spring and we fill a cube. The water helps us cook beans and wash dishes and we drink from it so we can survive and stay alive.
God has blessed me very kindly by giving me food so I can eat and giving me fish sticks that I want to taste.

Sunday

Today, we went to St. Louis church.  We went there so that I can learn from the Bible.  I asked Daddy what "begat" means.  Begat means that someone was born I think Daddy said.  I felt that church was a little boring so I snuggled up with Daddy during service.  There are a lot of kids in St. Louis.  I like that.  I remember some of them from Summer Camp and from Conference.

Yesterday, I went for a shower.  I was dirty and needed to get clean for church.  I love to get dirty.  I did schoolwork yesterday.  I did good on it.  I did dishes yesterday, too.  I like doing dishes sometimes.

The day before, I went on a very long walk with Daddy and Uncle K and B.  My feet were hurting and we made another trail.  I learned about laser lines and degrees on a compass. 

The day before that, we got stuck with the truck in mud and water.  I thought it was funny.  Daddy thought it was a little bit funny.  It was fun watching daddy's truck get pulled from the mud.

We came to the laundromat today.  I like the laundromat because it's lovely place.  I like playing here.
We went to the Dugginsville church yesterday.  I liked it.  There was a lot of singing.  The people were really, really, really, really nice.
Saturday, we went swimming in the creek.  It was cold.  I shivered.
I am still doing schoolwork.  I don't like doing my schoolwork, but I do like doing my journal.

God has blessed me very much.  He has given me sunlight to see and a creek to swim in even though it is really, really cold.

I have been playing in the woods because it's lots of fun.  I have been working hard digging dirt so that we can not sink through mud.  Sinking in mud is not fun.  I have been keeping the fire going.  I am really good at it.

Everything we have been doing is a lot of fun.  It has been a good day.

We had storms last night.  The storms were really, really, really bad.  I was scared but only a little bit.  Just for an hour or so.  During the storms, we had snacks of graham crackers, snack crackers, saltines, bananas, celery, and all that good stuff.  We talked about storms and how God blessed us.  We watched Charlotte's Web until the battery died.  We need to finish watching it.

Today, God has blessed be very nice by giving me a heart.  A very big heart.

My muscles are getting bigger.

We have been working cutting down trees.  We've been cutting down trees so we can build a house.  We haven't started on the house yet. 

We've been carrying the trees near the fire ring.  It is very hard work.  I like it.  I can make bigger muscles.

We've been camping.  Camping is so great because it is a lot of fun.

We've been playing in mud and painting with mud and getting ourselves all messy.  It is fun getting messy and painting with the mud.

I like it here.  It is so much fun.

We had peach oatmeal for breakfast.  It is so yum.  It was cooked on the fire.  We had spaghetti last night that was also cooked on the fire.  We've had lots of soups cooked on the wood stove.  We have lots of food to eat that is so yum.

God blessed me very well.  He gave me friends and family.

2 days worth

Thursday, April 22, 2010 We have been cutting down trees and dragging them. It is hard work.

We have been cutting down trees to make a path so we can move vehicles.

It gets cold at night so we sleep under lots of covers. We also make campfires at night. I love to make fire starters.

The goats and chickens like it here a little bit. The dogs are happy and the baby goats love it a lot.

We get our water from the creek. When we get the water, we filter it and boil it and then we can drink it.

I like to play in the forest. I like to play hide-and-seek with Ben. He is a good hider.

God has blessed me today by helping me to not do bad things and when I do bad things, He helps me to change then to good.

Yesterday it rained a little. It felt wonderful. Today, it rained a lot. I like them rain.

I could not go in the woods yesterday because I forgot to put my whistle on.

I like to make fire starters because it makes the fire go.

God has blessed me very much. He helps me do right instead of wrong.

This is the mom

This blog has been created for my son, Charlie to chronicle his experience with being raised as a deliberate agregarian and building an earthen house using raw materials and renewable resources. We arrived in the Ozarks yesterday and landed on 80 acres. I want a place for him to be able to write out his experience and be able to see how things go through his eyes.
